1. Purpose of This Disclaimer

This Disclaimer explains the limitations of the services offered by Over the Horizon Veteran Medical Consulting (“the Company,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). It is intended to clarify that the Company’s services are strictly non-clinical in nature and do not include medical diagnosis, medical treatment, or the establishment of any provider–client or provider–patient relationship.

2. Non-Clinical Services Only

The Company provides documentation and evaluation-oriented services, which may include:

• Independent Medical Opinions (IMOs)

• Nexus Letters

• Disability Benefits Questionnaire (DBQ) review and non-certifying commentary

• Medical record review

• Veteran-focused consulting services

These services do NOT constitute or include:

• Medical treatment

• Diagnosis of medical conditions

• Clinical treatment decision-making

• Prescribing or managing medications

• Medical clearance

• Ongoing medical care

• Telehealth or virtual clinical services

3. No Provider–Client or Provider–Patient Relationship

Engaging with the Company’s services does NOT create a provider–client or provider–patient relationship. Any consulting clinicians engaged by the Company act solely in an independent, non-treating documentation capacity and do not assume responsibility for clinical management, medical decision-making related to treatment, or medical outcomes.

By using the Company’s services, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are NOT receiving healthcare from the Company.

• You are NOT being diagnosed or treated by the Company.

• You must continue to rely on your licensed healthcare providers for all medical care.

4. Not a Substitute for Medical or Legal Advice

The Company’s services are not a substitute for:

• Professional medical evaluation, diagnosis, or treatment

• Emergency medical or psychiatric care

• Legal advice, legal representation, or assistance with VA claims or appeals

Clients are solely responsible for maintaining ongoing medical care with licensed healthcare providers and for consulting qualified legal professionals regarding disability claims, appeals, or related legal matters.

5. VA Claim Outcomes Not Guaranteed

Any documentation or opinions provided by the Company may be used to support a disability claim; however, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) retains exclusive authority over rating decisions, service-connection determinations, benefit timelines, and appeal outcomes. The Company makes no guarantees regarding any VA decision or result.

6. Responsibilities of the Client

By using the Company’s services, you agree that you:

• Are responsible for seeking appropriate medical care from licensed providers.

• Will provide accurate, complete, and truthful information and records.

• Will submit only records you are legally authorized to share.

• Understand and accept the limitations of the Company’s non-clinical role.

7. Emergency Situations

The Company does NOT provide emergency services of any kind. If you are experiencing a medical, psychiatric, or safety emergency, call 911 or seek immediate assistance from emergency medical services.

8. Relationship to Privacy and HIPAA Obligations

This Disclaimer does not alter, replace, or limit any HIPAA authorizations, privacy notices, or data security obligations applicable to the Company.
