Meet the Founder
Experience on Both Sides of the Veteran Journey
Joseph Lacourse is a former Reconnaissance Marine, combat veteran, service-disabled veteran and board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner whose career includes emergency medicine, critical care, flight nursing and prior Compensation and Pension examination experience supporting veterans through clinically complex circumstances with precision.
His experience as both a veteran navigating the disability system and a medical professional shapes the company’s approach. He founded Over the Horizon to bring greater clarity, accountability and understanding to independent veteran-focused medical documentation at every stage.
